XD It was almost painful to put this page off for a week. That last panel was one of the clearest scenes in my mind when I started thinking about this chapter. This is the second big reveal of the city, which I had previously shown from under the waterline in chapter one.
Today’s vote incentive is a map of the city with important locations marked
. By the way, thanks so much for the votes! We were in the top 30 for a while there and it freaked me out ;__;
I found out that if I fold a piece of printer paper in half I get the exact height to width ratio of these pages, so now all my initial sketches are done off the computer. Never thought I’d go back XD. But it turned out to be faster/easier and as a result I’ve already got the next page inked and the one after that sketched
. Things are looking bright if I can keep up this pace.
Next page might be up tomorrow night or Monday morning!
Thanks for reading!

Whoa, stunning! Those are some really beautiful shots.
You must’ve spent a lot of time on that last panel. (Ah, that map looks awesome! On the vote incentive. Really inspiring)

Thanks so much!
Definitely, lol. Most of my time on this page was spent drawing that darn city XD.

TX. for the comic, its fantastic!
Im only wondering now. Do they know how to land?

Thanks very much!
Luna figured that landing would just be a matter of gradually easing off on the speed. But they will need to learn how to land properly here XD

Aweshummm :O (yes it was painful checking back so much for updates hehe)
The first and last panels are gorgeous! Man, that boat is going up at a scary angle O__o Ten’s gonna need sunglasses with how bright it is up there :B I like how you draw hair blowing in the wind, if it were any more authentic, there would be blaring wind sound effects coming from the page! Is the view of the last panel inspired from peeking out of an airplane window? It’s such a sweet moment <3
Whooo can't wait for the next page already!!

Yes it was
. I always try to get the window seat on a plane because I love seeing cities and scenery from that elevation. I tried to capture that kind of imagery in the last panel :3

Glad to hear about the little sketch trick, always wondered if it was faster to sketch on paper first or to do it all digitally.
And for some reason the design of the city reminds me of a computer chip. I really weird computer chip but still, think it’s all the details with the docks that make it look like wiring is coming out.

Haha, me too. I’ve been working digitally for so long, I’d forgotten the ease of pencil/paper work — you can take it anywhere, sit comfortably, and not be distracted by other computer issues XD.
Oh, I can see that
. I think it’s because the docks look like those jagged magnetic lines you see on circuit boards.
Thanks for the comment!

I really like how [perhaps unintentionally] the ropes divide the last panel into…well…panels. It gives it a nice flow. Luna and Ten are breaking out of thier ‘panel’ into the third one and then the city has it’s own ‘panel’. Gives it a good left-to-right visual flow and frames the city nicely.

Totally unintentional XD. I didn’t think about much other than trying not to make the ropes cover anything important. I’m glad it ended up framing things though. Lucky accident :B
Thanks

Beautiful work, as always.
For those hard-to-draw-small details, 11×17 (“tabloid”-size) paper has the same proportions as an 8.5×5.5″ half-letter sheet.

Haha, I wish I had known that a long time ago. I’ve been drawing dumb little comics since I was a kid, but I never tried folding the letter-sized papers in half XD.

Gorgeous artwork, again.
… For someone who goes exploring in submerged ruins, Luna seems remarkably insecure flying *above* the water – but I guess different things scare different people. Or maybe she just really likes clinging onto Ten like that.
The city is actually smaller than I had expected, so I’m guessing now that this world has a much smaller population than ours does today.

Hehe, could be a little bit of both :3. I think it’s just that she’s never experienced such speeds before, so it’s a little startling for her. She’ll get used to it eventually, like she did with diving. Ten, on the other hand… has a malfunctioning sense of self-preservation XD.
Yes. Very small population. Though there are many, many floating islands scattered about the ocean (and some much larger than this one), I’d say there are only about a quarter of a billion people in their world.

Hurray! I’m absolutely loving your comic so far, especially the mysterious and foreboding bandaged character, and the technical merit in the backgrounds! <3
