This lovely Luna illustration was done by Mary Cagle, author of Kiwi Blitz
Kiwi Blitz is a crazy awesome webcomic about a girl named Steffi who decides to become a crimefighter using her giant mech “Kiwibot.” This comic has some excellent artwork, entertaining characters, and some surprisingly heavy plot elements at times. It all adds up to a thoroughly enjoyable read. I highly reccommend this one :]

Sorry for the absence. I haven’t really been away though — I’ve been revising some old chapter two pages in order to get them ready for print. These go a lot faster than normal pages and I’ve already finished about five in two weeks XD. I’m hoping to get all the way through to page 15 before long.
New page updates will resume around January 15th, regardless of whether or not I’ve met my revising goal :].

Aww, isn’t she cute. I think I’ll check out that Kiwibot comic, too,
Looking forward tothe next update.

Hey, I just started reading (Savannah from Amya turned me on to your stuff) and I think you’re doing a fantastic job.
Now’s probably the best time for any sort of break too since most people are a bit busy for webcomics from around Christmas through to mid-January, plus your revised pages look amazing! Really looking forward to the next update, good luck!

Thanks so much!
I’m so glad you’re enjoying the comic. My thanks to Savannah for the linkage too :]
Haha, good point. I usually feel guilty about taking time off from new pages (even to do revisions), but now was probably a good time :]
O__O You do Red Moon Rising. Fantastic artwork!

Oh man! I’m really flattered, since your art has me gnawing on my thumb going “oh god, why am I not this good??” and I’m absolutely fascinated by your process! Everything is so detailed and atmospheric to boot, I can’t imagine how long it must take you. Makes me feel really lazy, haha.
Seeing all the process stuff on your LJ is inspiring, though! I’m about to start a new chapter on Red Moon Rising, and I’m all ready to really go all out on the art.

XD As long as it takes me to do these pages, I feel like it would take me forever to get them as visually appealing as one of yours. Your comic has a very natural, hand-drawn look to it, which is really refreshing
. There’s so much nice texture and linework, and I love how your environments and colors contribute so well to the mood of your story. The character art is especially inspiring :]. I think it’s those subtle touches that really make your work shine.
Personally, I feel like I go a bit overboard sometimes with my pages XD.

At the risk of this exchange completely and utterly descending into “you’re awesome!”, “no, you!” I really don’t know about that! I think your pages are just wonderful.
As I said, I’m very inspired right now from seeing all the effort you’ve lavished on Everblue – it’s been a long time since I’ve been quite so engrossed by a webcomic and I think it’s at least partly because your clearly thorough understanding of your world and characters are so lushly displayed through the art. I’ve really enjoyed looking through your concept work and I feel like I should definitely be doing more of my own now!
I actually thought my character art was quite weak, I feel like I have a much better grasp on landscapes and colours in general, but it’s very kind of you to say.
All psyched up to do even better now, though! I think reading Everblue has been the highlight of my month, it’s very uplifting.

No, you!
XD Just kidding. Thanks so much!
Your comic is definitely an inspiration to me. Just reading a couple pages makes me want to try harder to create some more artistic, creative scenes :]

From the peanut gallery:
Get a sketch pad, you two!
Seriously, I think it’s awesome to see two very different but incredibly talented artists go all gaga for each other’s work.
Plus, it was fun it was fun seeing the metaphorical lightbulb go off in blue’s noggin.
I was tempted to rofl, but that would have been undignified.

D’aw, so cute! Although dang that’s a BIG incentive sketch. o_O

Cutest drawing of Luna I’ve ever seen :3.
Haha, yeah, that’s the actual size of the line art on the page XD. Figured people might find it interesting :B

Great, now I have another webcomic I have to follow. Went through the whole thing in one sitting.
Sounds like I’ll have more incentive to go over chapter two for plot points I missed. Good luck revising.

Awesome! Same here. It’s one of those comics that’s hard to step away from once you start reading. I’m glad I could help bring Kiwi Blitz more readers :]
Thanks

Yay, thanks so much
. Hehe, it’s all in the interest of making a more enjoyable comic for everyone. Still, my apologies for springing a hiatus on you just as you catch up XD

Ahhhh. Okay, okay. Now the lack of new pages makes sense.
Thanks so much for letting us know. I was a little worried your absence could mean you’d fallen ill, so I’m glad that wasn’t the case. <3
I'm probably parroting the sentiments of a lot of the folks who frequent this site when I say I'm really excited at the prospect of there being a physical printed version of Ever Blue, but I'll say it all the same. This news has me smiling from ear to ear!
I shall now sit back and await Jan 15th with immeasurable eagerness!!!

XD I feel bad about going so long without posting an update page like this.
Oh, I’m so happy to hear that
. It means a lot to me that people might want to read the comic in print.
Thanks so much! :]
